Cancer Answers @ Simmons Magazine

Objective

To foster and engage physicians while spotlighting the research and clinical expertise by UT researchers.

Solution

Cancer Answers @ Simmons was a redesign of a formerly consumer facing magazine called the Vanguard which I had designed several past issues of. The intent was to bring the focus back to Simmons Cancer Center to reinforce their reputation and prestige as a leader of clinical cancer research. As the primary art director for this publication, I work with the editor who provides the written articles which are then developed into a schematic. I contract with an illustrator for the cover art for each issue, art directing the illustration to ensure it reflects the main theme for the issue. A photographer is also contracted for one photoshoot of the feature story subject. Additional art selections consist of a combination of existing client photography, licensed stock photography and illustrations.
